Motorola Exec Intros The i1

Motorola has added to it's line up one of the more rugged Android phones that we have seen released in the Android wars. Sporting Android 1.5 (what's up with that Moto?), a 5 meg camera with LED flash along with Opera Mini for it's native browser, the first we have seen on any Android device to date. The device also sports the highly buzzed Swype keyboard for the enthusiast at hand. Another cool feature you can expect on this device is it's push to talk feature (PTT) This being a Sprint phone we could expect no less. It will also have a 600 mhz processor unlike the standard 528 mhz. This bad boy is water resistant, shock proof and dust proof according to the rep. So go ahead and test it out and let us know how it holds up.

Cyanogen At It Again.......

Cyanogen, the most popular developer for the Android platform has done it again. People are wondering why would I want to root and mod my Nexus One when G1's and MyTouch 3G's are all being rooted to be like the Nexus One anyway? How about for starters.........MULTI-TOUCH! Thanks to CyanogenMod you now have access to multi-touch capabilities (assuming you have root access) in the browser. Check out the demo for yourself. Note the wonderful relationship between the multi-touch capabilities and the snapdragon processor that makes for a nice fast crisp and "snappy" browsing experience on the N1. Google, why do we have to work this hard for something that should be a default feature on the device to begin with ???

Google Navigator Now Available On Non 2.0 Devices

Google has been at it again and giving some Thanksgiving love to all non rooted and non Android 2.0 phones. I'm currently using a T-Mobile G1 and the app is working seamlessly without an issue. I've heard of some reports about various functions not working properly, especially the voice turn by turn nav portion of the app which might have possibly been disabled on certain phones. Much props go out to Google for this navigator love. However, for now, these phones will have to do without it until a future update reaches them:

•Archos MIDs
•Sprint HTC Hero
•Sprint Samsung Moment
•T-Mobile Motorola Cliq
•T-Mobile Samsung Behold II
•Verizon HTC Droid Eris

Why Can't T-Mobile Advertise Like This!!!

Looks like Verizon released some more commercials showing off their new Motorola Droid with Android 2.0 - There advertisements thus far have been extremely clever with a great build up of anticipation before the device even launched. We wish that T-Mobile would take some notes and the PR people would begin to, I don't know, release commercials that show what the phone can actually do! No offense to Chevy, Whoopie, Phil and Jesse

HTC Hero Comparison Party

Now that the HTC Droid Eris has joined the party the boys over at Engadget were nice of enough to review and compare all three versions. The software is extremely similar sporting the HTC Sense UI on all three devices. The differences are obviously going to be with the hardware - It was a difficult choice picking a favorite but I tend to lean towards the Eris simply because of it's sleek slim design and feel, and of course the price tag ($99 dollars on Verizon) Can't go wrong with a price tag like that. The Sprint version is available today in the states with a 2 year contract. However the original HTC Hero (with the Jay Leno Chin) is only available in Europe. You can unlock it but depending on your carrier you could be stuck with 2G GSM bands, which in my opinion would defeat the whole purpose in getting this incredible smartphone with an incredible platform. What's your favorite devices? Leave a comment and tell us why you like that particular device over the others.

Dell Mini 3ix Now In The US

The much anticipated Dell mini with Android is closer now than ever - it's been a wile since we have seen anything from Dell on the mobile platform side of things. If memory serves me correct the last thing we saw from them was the Dell Axim series. In any event it will be a welcomed addition to the android family.

Sony Ericsson Rachel UI - Absolutely Beautiful

This has to be, by far, one of the nicest UI's we've seen so far to compliment the Android platform. One can hardly notice Android hiding under it. This just might be the intent of Sony. In any event, it's breathtaking to look at. Of course this may not be the final product on retail devices, but if it stays close to this, I have no doubt in my mind that many would argue against it. Check out the 2 min video review.

Moto Droid Dock Is Pretty Cool

With the release of the VZ Motorola Droid, Motorola is appeasing and wooing bedside clock lovers everywhere. The Motorola dock is an excellent bed time companion and doubles as a multimedia playing center for your home as well. Check out the review. Once the Droid is set in the dock you have easy access to your music, alarm clock, weather and of course a slide show of your pics. There is even a dimmer switch so you don't have that bright light shining in your face when your trying to catch those Zzzzzz's. The Moto Dock sells for $29.99, a resonable price in our opinion, which is the same price the in car dash dock for Google's Navigator is going for. Droid Eris Video by Verizon

Update: Droid Eris "Hands On"

Verizon put out a descent video of the Droid Eris, Vz's second Android handset. The device sports the all too familiar HTC's Sens UI - so nothing new here. However, I received the opportunity to hold this little bad boy in my hand and the first thing noticeable was that it's .............slim as heck. I liked the way the phone felt in my hand. In a recent comparison it was found to be smaller and slimmer than both versions of the HTC Hero. The only difficult decision to make regarding the phone is; "To physical keyboard or not to physical keyboard, that is the question"
